Armenia parliament speaker on European Parliament resolution: We thank European partners for this important step

Yesterday, the European Parliament passed the resolution on the need for closer ties between the European Union (EU) and Armenia and a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, wrote this on Facebook on Thursday morning.

"We thank our European partners for this important step. Armenia is committed to actively work towards the implementation of the provisions of the above-mentioned resolution and deepening cooperation with the EU, based on shared democratic values and aspirations," Simonyan added.

As reported earlier, the European Parliament on Wednesday passed a resolution to consider the possibility of Armenia's candidacy for EU membership.
