Speaker Alen Simonyan receives Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Armenia
ArmeniaOn March 18, the Armenian National Assembly President Alen Simonyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Republic Armenia Petr Pirunčík.
According the readout issued by the press service of the National Assembly, the purpose of the Ambassador’s visit was to convey the letter of the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Markéta Pekarová-Adamová about her official visit to Armenia, the successful cooperation and the perspectives of Armenia-Czech Republic, Armenia-EU cooperation.
“On behalf of the delegation of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, as well as on my behalf, I would like to express my gratitude for the warm reception during our official visit to the Republic of Armenia. Our mutual discussions were very inspiring for me, and I deeply believe that it is only the beginning of our closer cooperation.
As a token of our support, your ambitions for making closer Armenia to the EU, please, accept the European flag enclosed to the letter.
Please, accept, Your Excellency, assurances of my highest consideration,” the letter says.
According to the source, Alen Simonyan thanked his Czech colleagues for dynamically developing relations between Armenia and the Czech Republic and fruitful visit to Armenia.
“Armenia highly appreciates Markéta Pekarová-Adamová’s visit and the unreserved support of the Czech Republic for the establishment of peace in the region, and in the rapprochement of the Armenia-EU relations. Armenia is ready to strengthen the relations with the European Union as much, as the European side will allow. I once again thank you for fruitful cooperation,” the Speaker of Parliament said.
The sides exchanged ideas also on the establishment of peace in the South Caucasus, the return of the Armenian captives being held in Azerbaijan and other themes.
