Mark Zuckerberg's $300M megayacht arrives in US
LeisureMark Zuckerberg's $300-million worth megayacht, Launchpad, has arrived in the United States. The Facebook founder, who is said to be the owner of a new megayacht built by Feadship, is expected to board the vessel soon, Autoevolution reports.
The first reports of Zuckerberg's desire to become a superyacht owner began circulating in late 2023 and were eventually confirmed in early March 2024—although it was never made official. Zuckerberg is one of the latest centi-billionaires to join the super-exclusive club of megayacht owners.
The rumors began after Zuckerberg was seen in the Netherlands, where he asked for a private tour of Project 1010, the megayacht commissioned by Russian oligarch Vladimir Potanin ahead of the latest round of international sanctions. Feadship could no longer deliver the item upon completion because Potanin's name was included on these sanctions’ lists, and the company requested special permission from the government to sell it to a non-sanctioned person. And this man is Zuckerberg.
Along with Project 1010, which he renamed Launchpad, he also received the Wingman (ex-Dapple), a superb shadow vessel built by Damen Yachting and previously owned by Valve founder Gabe Newell. The total cost of these new purchases is estimated at $330 million.
