Yerevan ex-mayor Hayk Marutyan is founding political party

The former mayor of Yerevan, Hayk Marutyan, will soon establish a political party.

It is called New Power. Marutyan's political team confirmed this in an interview with the RFE/RL Armenian Service.

The inaugural congress of this new political force in Armenia is slated for May 1.

 

The faction headed by Marutyan is the second largest in the Yerevan Council of Elders. Earlier, he had announced about founding a political party and running in the next parliamentary elections.
