In context of confrontation with Russia, USA and West involve Armenia in geopolitical games: Karasin

Russia is attentive to all statements of Armenia, said Grigory Karasin, Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Federal Council. He commented on the statement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan about the partnership with the USA and the European Union (EU).

 

"I tend to think that in the context of the confrontation with Russia, the USA and the West involve Armenia in geopolitical games. This is very dangerous and can, by the way, cause very specific damage not only to the relations between Yerevan and Moscow, but also to Armenia's influence and prospects in regional and world affairs. Not understanding this is a very dangerous delusion," Karasin said.

 

Earlier, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said that the country has chosen the path of democracy, so it is striving to strengthen the relevant institutions. According to the diplomat, Yerevan deepens economic and political relations with Brussels and Washington, and does not consider such a policy a fundamental turn. According to Mirzoyan, the main partners of Armenia are the United States and the European Union.
