Armenia is following path of economic diversification: Papoyan met with Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Economy of Lithuania
Armenia's Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan had a tripartite meeting with Gabrielius Landsbergis, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, and Aušrinė Armonaitė, Minister of Economy and Innovation, within the framework of his visit to the Republic of Lithuania.
Deputy Minister Narek Hovakimyan, Armenia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Lithuania Ara Margaryan were also present at the meeting.
The interlocutors stated that the Armenian-Lithuanian trade and economic relations have a great potential for expansion.
Minister Gevorg Papoyan noted that Armenia is on the path of economic diversification, which means that there is a great opportunity to further develop economic cooperation with joint forces.
The parties exchanged views on investment attraction, harmonization of EU standards, deepening of trade and economic ties with the EU and a number of other issues of mutual interest.
Referring to the Government's peace agenda, Gevorg Papoyan presented the possible economic advantages and importance of the 'Crossroads of Peace' project in establishing stable and lasting peace in the South Caucasus.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that with joint efforts they will achieve the expansion and further deepening of the Armenian-Lithuanian economic agenda.
