Blinken discusses Azerbaijan’s adherence to international human rights obligations and commitments with Aliyev
SocietyU.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev today and reaffirmed the importance of a durable and dignified peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the U.S. state Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller said in a statement.
“Secretary Blinken welcomed recent progress between the parties, including agreement on a border delimitation regulation. The Secretary emphasized the importance of the bilateral relationship between the United States and Azerbaijan and highlighted the U.S. commitment to a successful COP 29 meeting in Baku later this year. The Secretary and President Aliyev discussed areas for regional and bilateral cooperation, including the importance of Azerbaijan’s adherence to international human rights obligations and commitments”, Miller added.
