It is a matter of political will on part of Azerbaijan to sign peace treaty: Khandanyan
PoliticalThe key points in the draft peace treaty with Azerbaijan are agreed upon, Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Sargis Khandanyan said.
“The ball is now in Azerbaijan’s court, and Baku must officially respond to the 10th version of the draft peace treaty sent by Armenia,” Khandanyan, the chair of the parliamentary committee on foreign relations, told reporters.
“What’s been sent by Armenia has already been agreed upon, and in this case the signing of the treaty by Azerbaijan is now a matter of political will,” Khandanyan said when asked to respond to Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov’s statement that Armenia has left several points out of the draft.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan earlier said that he has offered Azerbaijan to sign a peace treaty with the articles that have already been agreed upon during the multiple rounds of talks, and leave outstanding issues for future discussions.
