Blinken to meet Wang Yi in Laos
LeisureChina's top diplomat Wang Yi will meet with US counterpart Antony Blinken on the sidelines of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) talks in Laos, Barron’s reports citing Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson.
"Foreign Minister Wang Yi will meet with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Laos," said Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning.
She said the two top diplomats would "exchange views on issues of common concern," without elaborating on the exact date of the meeting.
On July 25 Wang met with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of the ASEAN talks in Laos, and before that he met with Ukraine's top diplomat Dmytro Kuleba.
Blinken said last week he was planning to meet with Wang in Laos. According to Barron’s, Blinken’s Asia tour will last roughly 8 days during which he will visit six countries -- Vietnam, Laos, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore and Mongolia.
