MFA spox: China intends to continue supporting peaceful dialogue on Ukraine
TurkeyBased on the results of the recent meetings between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, the Chinese authorities will continue to take an impartial position on the Ukrainian crisis, supporting its political settlement process. This was announced by Lin Jian, spokesperson of the Chinese foreign ministry.
"Regarding the Ukrainian crisis, the PRC [i.e. the People's Republic of China] always takes an impartial and fair position," Lin stressed in a press briefing, answering a reporter's question whether Beijing is ready to achieve the conflict’s end on the results of Wang's meetings with Lavrov, Blinken, and Kuleba.
"China will continue to support peace and dialogue, support the international community to reach greater consensus, and work together to find a practical and feasible solution to the crisis," Lin stressed.
The spokesperson of China's MFA stated that Beijing has always sought to end the Ukrainian conflict as soon as possible, trying to find political ways for it. Lin noted that the ceasefire and the restoration of peace are beneficial to all parties.
"China has always considered that dialogue and negotiations are the only possible way out of the Ukrainian crisis," he concluded.
