Samsung confirms the Galaxy S25 will receive ‘major updates’
GeorgiaSamsung is preparing to launch its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S25, which is expected to be one of the most exciting devices of next year. The latest leaks, as well as some confirmed information about the Galaxy S25's specifications, indicate significant improvements in the camera and display areas.
According to Sammobile, the Galaxy S25 will receive "fundamental updates" in photography. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to feature a 200 MP main camera for better image detail, including in low light conditions, a 50 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, a 50 MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, and a 50 MP ultra-wide camera.
Additionally, new image processing algorithms are planned to enhance photo quality. Specifically, colors will become more saturated, and noise levels will be reduced. The camera specifications for the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ have not yet been disclosed.
The display will also see significant improvements. The Galaxy S25 will feature a next-generation OLED technology screen, which will provide brighter and more contrast-rich colors, as well as better visibility in bright outdoor lighting. The display is expected to support a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz for smoother interface performance in games and videos, and HDR10+ format to achieve a high dynamic range for improved image realism and color gradation.
Samsung MX Vice President Daniel Araujo emphasized that the phone will feature the industry's best processor and memory for enhanced AI performance. This involves the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip with Oryon CPU cores from Qualcomm, which the company will announce in two months.
Araujo also noted that Samsung, together with Google, is working on improving AI features. "Looking ahead, we expect to understand the context of messages to provide a better AI experience on our devices. To achieve this, we will strengthen partnerships while further developing our AI technologies."
