No tolerance will be shown towards Israel after Ismail Haniyeh’s murder, says Iran acting FM
OtherActing Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Bagheri Kani has warned that Iran will not show any tolerance towards Israel after the assassination—in Tehran—of Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Hamas movement.
"There is no doubt that the Islamic Republic of Iran will carry out fair justice without showing any mercy to this shameful and criminal regime," the Iranian diplomat said—regarding Israel—in a telephone conversation with Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Al Safadi, stressing that this assassination took place in the capital of Iran. Kani's aforesaid words are quoted in the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) statement.
The Iranian MFA reported also on consultations between acting FM Ali Bagheri Kani and Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf. The Iranian minister, along with his Jordanian and Algerian counterparts, condemned Haniyeh’s assassination in Tehran and supported Iran's proposal to hold an emergency meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation after the death of the political leader of Hamas.
