Synchron integrates ChatGPT with human brain
AI-powered chatbots have reached the human brain. Synchron, a company specializing in brain-computer interfaces, announced the integration of generative AI based on OpenAI's developments into its brain-computer interface platform.
In such systems, AI has already been used to determine the correspondence of various brain signals to a person's intentions. In this case, OpenAI's AI makes the interface even more straightforward and convenient for the user. Generative AI can generate automatic suggestions for text messages, classified based on contextual data, including the user's emotions. The developers demonstrated how this works in a video.
Synchron claims that with the help of GPT, the system can assist the user in generating text or even audio at the speed of normal human conversation.
It is also important to note that in Synchron's development, their chip is implanted into a blood vessel on the surface of the motor cortex of the brain through the jugular vein using a minimally invasive endovascular procedure.
