Biden: I'm determined to run

US President Joe Biden called himself the most qualified candidate for re-election as head of state and defeating Donald Trump. He said this on Friday, July 12, during a separate press conference after the NATO summit held in Washington.

"I think I'm the most qualified person to run for president. I won it once, and I will win it again," Biden said at the press conference, which U.S. media called "the most important of his career" and "pivotal" for his campaign after a disappointing debate performance against Donald Trump.

Biden answered 19 questions from 10 reporters over the course of an hour, many of which centered on his health, his ability to campaign and his ability to retake the presidency. The media, meanwhile, noted some changes in the rhetoric of the president, who a week earlier had emphasized that only God could force him out of the race.
