Some EU countries signal increased investments in Armenia - Minister of Economy
SocietyThere are signals from some European Union countries about increasing investments in Armenia, Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan said during the discussion of the annual report 'On the Execution of the Republic of Armenia 2023 State Budget' at the joint session of the National Assembly Standing Committees.
"For example, French companies are already in Armenia and are looking for possible areas to invest in, and the areas are diverse, from global clothing brands to companies involved in infrastructure. This is the result of a political impulse," Papoyan emphasized.
The minister mentioned that he had recently met with a group of French businessmen.
"B2B meetings were organized, and a big event took place," Papoyan noted.
According to him, there are also problems related not to the EU-Armenia agenda but to the EU-EEU agenda.
"Obviously, the sanctions have had a negative impact on our economy, and we witness it," concluded Papoyan.
