Authoritative insider Majin Bu published on his page on the social network X (formerly Twitter) a photo of the iPhone 16 battery. The battery looks quite unusual.

Features of the new battery

According to the Android Authority portal, the battery shown in the photo has a shape and size similar to the iPhone 15. However, the distinctive external feature of the new battery is its metal casing.As Android Authority notes, most smartphone batteries are wrapped in black foil, which does little to dissipate heat. A metal casing could help the device better handle battery heat, which could improve the overall performance and longevity of the device.

Specifications

The photo also shows the battery capacity of the base iPhone 16, which was 3597 mAh. This is slightly larger than the iPhone 15's 3,367 mAh battery. A larger battery combined with a more energy-efficient processor should have a positive impact on the battery life of the future smartphone.Note that the presentation of iPhone 16 series smartphones is expected in September 2024. Information about the new battery will likely fuel interest in the upcoming release, as improved cooling and increased battery capacity could significantly improve the user experience.
