Armenia sees a real opportunity to finalize and sign draft peace treaty with Azerbaijan
SocietyArmenia is loyal to normalizing relations with Azerbaijan and demarcating the state border, based on the mutual recognition of territorial integrity based on the Alma-Ata Declaration.
Armenian Foreign Affairs Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said this in his speech during the concluding session of the Armenia-US strategic dialogue held at the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
"Armenia is loyal to normalizing relations with Azerbaijan and demarcating the state border, based on the mutual recognition of territorial integrity based on the Alma-Ata Declaration. There is a real opportunity, a historic moment, to finalize the draft peace treaty; signing it can open a new door for long-term peace in the region," said Ararat Mirzoyan.
Mirzoyan added that Armenia is also very interested in unblocking all regional communications, based on the principles of sovereignty, full respect of jurisdiction, equality under the law and reciprocity. It is best expressed in the "Crossroads of Peace" initiative, which the Armenian government put forward.
