Hayastan All-Armenian Fund's support to Karabakh compatriots amounted to around 680 million drams, says Executive Director
Armenian PressThe "Hayastan" All-Armenian Fund has provided significant aid to the compatriots of Nagorno-Karabakh under siege from the very first days of 2023. After September 19 of the same year, the provision of primary aid to people forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh became a priority.
Haykak Arshamyan, Executive Director of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, said this during the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Fund.
"During the days of forced displacement starting from September 20, 2023, the Fund and local bodies, particularly our local body in France, supported 20,000 families in Kornidzor and Goris alone, helping them overcome the difficult journey by providing food, water, and fuel along the way. Then, thanks to quickly organized network fundraising, 200 tons of aid were provided to more than 42,000 displaced people who arrived in Armenia, including large quantities of food, hygiene products, bedding, and household items," he said.
The Executive Director of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund also stressed the importance of the role of regional and non-governmental organizations through which the Fund distributed humanitarian aid across most regions of Armenia.
"In total, considering the support provided to the citizens of besieged Artsakh in the winter of 2022 and spring of 2023, along with this recent support, 679 million 920 thousand drams, or 1 million 722 thousand dollars, were spent," concluded Arshamyan.
