Security is not enough, we need peace - Pashinyan
EconomyThe concept of security that Armenia has implemented so far does not provide security, it generates dangers.
Nikol Pashinyan expressed such a position during the preliminary discussion of the annual report "On the Implementation of the 2023 State Budget of the Republic of Armenia" at the joint session of the National Assembly Standing Committees.
"In my opinion, we should record that freedom is no longer enough for an Armenian citizen, because justice is needed, security is no longer enough, because peace is needed. We did not even notice that during the existence of our state, what we considered to be security was actually quite dangerous. We named it security, but in our opinion, we tried to implement it by generating new dangers," said the Prime Minister.
He emphasized that security is no longer enough because peace is needed. The peace that can provide security.
"The concept of security that Armenia has implemented so far does not provide security, it generates dangers," Pashinyan said, adding that this is also the gap between the concepts of real Armenia and non-real Armenia.
Prosperity, according to him, is not enough either.
"What does prosperity mean? If we look at a very embryonic level, a person has clothes, food, a chair, the ability to provide and satisfy certain physical needs. Should that be enough for us? No, I think it should not be enough. Providing all these conditions, a person can be unhappy. Therefore, prosperity is no longer enough, because happiness is needed," he said.
