Martyrdom of Sinjar Yazidis: French Ambassador to Armenia compares it to Armenian Genocide a century later
Society French Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia, Olivier Decottignies, has referred the declaration of August 3 as a day of remembrance for the victims of the 2014 Sinjar Yazidi genocide by the Armenian parliament.
In a post on X, the Ambassador noted that the martyrdom of the Yazidis in Sinjar is a repetition of the martyrdom of the Armenians who underwent genocide in 1915, with a century-long difference
"The National Assembly of Armenia has included the Day of Remembrance of the Yazidi Genocide in its national calendar," he wrote, adding that he is proud to have represented France in the National Assembly of Armenia on this historic day.
