"We have a lot of work to do in the sphere of Human Rights. In some cases, especially in positive sense, civic activists have a great role in it.
Civic society is active due to environmental problems and the a reference to Army cases also occurs”, said vice president on Human Rights and Public Affairs Committee NA Margaret Yesayan at the meeting with journalists.
According to the deputy, the judicial system is not independent in Armenia, the sphere needs serious reforms.
The latter said that she, as a Vice President of Committee, a lot of complaints are coming, but they have mainly domestic nature.“For example, people complain about their neighbours that their noise is a violation of their rights. To be honest, I do not understand why it matters to me, I do not know what I can do about the serious human rights violation. I have not received serious complaints on violation of human rights, yet” said the MP.
