Assistance to Syrian-Armenians

The interchurch foundation Armenian Round Table, and the Alliance United Church have launched a joint rapid reaction project for the Syrian-Armenians.

The initiative, which has received blessings by Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II, aims to provide food and first aid items to the more disadvantaged families (200 in number).

According to a press release by the Holy See of St. Echmiadzin, the project was launched on December 10. It is being implemented in collaboration with the Ararat Patriarchal Diocese. The Yerevan City supermarket chain has also expressed support to the initiative.

The foundation will hold meetings with the beneficiaries at the diocese prelacy on December 11 and 17 to give them shopping cards of the Yerevan City supermarkets.

Additionally, the Armenian Round Table representatives and the Diocese clergy will conduct home visits to get better familiarized with the families’ needs and provide a spiritual assistance.
