Prestigious French newspaper L’Equipe named the third racket American Serena William athlete of the year.

Note that in 2012 season, Williams won in seven matches, including Uimbldon, US Open and WTA final tournament and became the Olympic champion. Serena became champion in both games.

Williams younger awarded her long-standing competitor, former first racket swiss Martina Hingise.
