Georgian Dream ruling coalition will choose its candidate inside of its bloc, MP David Berdzenishili stated today, Russian Vzglyad reports.
“Each candidate of the Georgian Dream will win at the 2013 presidential elections,” the MP said. He refuted the conclusions as if the coalition candidate will be former parliament speaker Nino Burjanadze.
“If we become a parliamentary republic the most optimal candidate, like Bidzina Ivanishvili said, will be Vakhtang Khmaladze,” Berdzenishvili said.
Earlier the mass media reported that the candidate of the United National Movement headed by President Mikheil Saakashvili will be former PM Vano Merabishvili.
Saakashvili cannot run for presidency as he has already served two term.
Besides, it was clear that after the defeat in the parliamentary elections, the movement is going to change its name and be named New Democratic Movement or for the Sake of Future Movement.
