Nikol Pashinyan: "Government acted in defense of the parliamentary majority"
Political
Today, at a special session of the National Assembly, RA Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) deputies David Harutyunyan and Arpine Hovhannisyan presented the bill on amendments and additions to the law "Rules of the National Assembly", which provided for approval of "civil harmony" in the Ethics Commission.
This project has been a matter of urgency by the Government to the National Assembly.
Now the places in ethics commission are distributed according to the principle of equality, however, according to Hovannisyan, the places should be allocated in proportion to the political forces.
During his speech National Assembly ANC deputy Pashinyan noted that the story began as long as the ethics committee of the National Assembly of Armenia decided to begin an investigation against 83 members of the National Assembly, 74 of which were of a coalition government.
"The decision, though, does not contain the prosecution version, and the only consequence must determine whether anyone from 83 members broke ethics rules or not.
The government, therefore, interferes in the internal matters of parliament debate, because, as noted by the speaker, they asked the government about that themselves.
In fact, the government has acted in defense of the parliamentary majority, as the parliamentary majority feels unsafe in National Assembly.
