Hrant Matevosyan - Soviet Armenian writer, author of novels, short stories and screenplays.
Hrant Matevosyan was born in 1935 in a small village Ahnadzor.
He left school and got high education in Yerevan. There, in 1967, he release of the first collection of short stories and novels, "August" was published.
More than forty years Hrant Matevosyan served the cause of our common literature.
His works became the property of all languages, not only neighboring countries but also distant.
And now forever remain unchanged with his stories, novels, films the "Master", "The mother is going to marry his son", "August", "Metsamor" and many others.
Matevosyan’s creativity gaineded high honors.
The writer died on December 19, 2002, at 67th year after a long and serious illness, in Yerevan.
Many years he suffered from cancer.
In summer, 2002 he was operated in one of the best clinics in America. There was hope that he could win the disease.
Unfortunately, those hopes were in vain.
