Armenian Catholicos congratulates newly-elect Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch

Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II issued a congratulatory message to John X (Yazigi), the newly elected Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All The East.

“Leadership of the See of Antioch was entrusted to you during this difficult period for Syria and the Middle East. Now, you are called to serve the needs of the faithful of Syria by also cooperation with other Churches and religions.May God give you strength to care for the spiritual needs of the people, to promote reconciliation during the existing conflict, and to pursue interreligious dialogue,” Karekin II specifically said in his message, Information System of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin informs.

Also, the Catholicos expressed confidence that the ties between the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East will continue to develop for the glory of God and the establishment of peace and stability in Syria and the Middle East.
