Other
Cargo transportation volume of "South Caucasian Railway" in January-November 2012 amounted to 3153.1 thousand tons, up 5.8% over the same period of 2011.
For the first 11 months 2012 the export by rail reached 445.6 thousand tons of cargo, over the same period in 2011 by 9%. During the reporting period 2012 in local traffic 1457.7 thousand tons of cargo transported by rail (up 9.3%).
Also the average weight of a freight train increased by 4% and reaching 1448 tons against 1392 tons last year.
The railway is gradually increasing its key performance indicators, including the volume of freight traffic. We achieved these results thanks to SCR flexible tariff policy aimed at reducing transport costs in the price of the goods transported.
Improving the reliability of the railway infrastructure has reduced the delivery time, improve the reliability of transportation, reduce the risk of cargo loss or damage.
