Saakasvili was attacked with stones

Georgia’s President Mikheil Saakasvili’s opponents did not allow Georgia’s President to leave the office of the United National Movement in Kutaisi where he conducted a consultation, Russian NTV reports.

When finally the president managed to leave the office, his autocade was stoned. Saakashvili did not suffer injuries, unlike his party members.

Georgia’s leader stated that the attack was organized by Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili and promised to go to public even if he is deprived of bodyguards and armored car.

In the statement released by Georgia’s PM’s press office, Ivanishvili called on the people to refrain from provocations and tasked the law enforcers to investigate the Kutaisi incident.

“We are responsible authorities and criticize any manifestations of aggression,” Ivanishvili said.
