Ronaldo wants to return to Manchester United

Real Madrid’s crown jewel Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his desire to permanently return to Manchester United, according to Faniq.com.

The Sun on Sunday reported Cristiano Ronaldo had confided in close-friends and ex-United teammates that he was eager to move back to Old Trafford.

This startling news will not go down well in Spain where Real Madrid are preparing for a mouth-watering Champions League clash against Manchester United. Nonetheless, talk about Cristiano Ronaldo moving out of the Santiago Bernabeu has been more than just a whisper a storm.

Cristiano Ronaldo was linked with a move back to Manchester United last year as well, but club manager Sir Alex Ferguson declared he didn’t possess the treasure chests needed to re-acquire the Portuguese star.

The 27-year-old forward has been linked to Paris Saint-Germain as of late. The money-rich club is ready to pay the world record breaking transfer fees required to sign in Cristiano Ronaldo, but the Portugal international is not interested in playing for the French outfit.

Just yesterday Sir Alex Ferguson was questioned about the potential return of Cristiano Ronaldo and the Scotsman didn’t respond positively.

“I'd love to see that, but it's fanciful thinking really,” Sir Alex Ferguson said. “First of all, how much it would take to get him from Real Madrid? And secondly, I don't think there's any chance they would want to sell him anyway.”

“But you never know. I don't know when his contract finishes,” the 70-year-old manager added.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s statements clearly exude the desire to bring back Cristiano Ronaldo. However, numbers are set to destroy his dream. Cristiano Ronaldo’s release clause with Real Madrid contains an £800m release clause and his current salary is over £200,000 per week.

If Manchester United want to wait till Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract with Real Madrid is over the English football giants would have to wait for two-and-a-half years.

The only plausible way Manchester United could re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo would be by offering a humongous cash-plus-players deal to Real Madrid. Manchester United will have to offer as much £80 million along with star player such as Nemanja Vidic and Robin van Persie.
