Parliamentarian of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) Nikol Pashinyan during "Facebook" press conference on Radio Liberty on the question whether the rumors are true that Levon Ter-Petrosyan has decided not to run because of internal problems in the ANC, replied: "Levon Ter-Petrosyan has already named the cause. As far as it is convincing to people, that's another question."
Referring to the rumors that he was against Ter-Petrosyan's nomination, Pashinyan said that the political events unfolded in such a way that all led to Levon Ter-Petrosyan's non-nomination.
Answering the questions about the possibility of his nomination, Pashinyan said that he had repeatedly stated that he had no plans and the desire to participate in the elections as a presidential candidate.
"For me the nomination for the presidential elections means to send a message to society that I am ready to take on the burden of power and I am sure that under my leadership, the result will be positive.
Today I cannot do that. When I'll be ready for it, be sure I will make this political move," said the representative of the ANC.
Pashinyan said that he would never run for the president only to participate, and if he ever took part in them, he would do so only if he would be sure that he was a favorite in the election campaign.
