Eduard Sharmazanov about last year and the expectations of the New Year

According to the Vice-Chairman of the National Assembly, a spokesman of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Eduard Sharmazanov, 2012 was an eventful and was an election year.

"In 2012 the elections of the National Assembly took place and of course, these elections are very important for the further development of our country.

We can assume that the elections of the National Assembly have failed. I say this as a representative of society, since the evaluation of all international observers, these elections were the best in our history.

Some European observers have even compared the elections of the National Assembly with parliamentary elections to be held in Europe. In this sense, we have shown that democracy in Armenia is an essential fact ", in an interview with Lurer.com Sharmazanov said.

The next important issue as for Sharmazanov, were the elections of Local Government.

"I recognize the importance of these elections as long as the Local Government is the most important achievement of our independent state. Local elections were also held in the atmosphere of democracy, "he said.

"I do not want to separate Armenia from Karabakh, it is worth mentioning also the presidential elections of Artsakh".

Speaking of the expectations in 2013, Sharmazanov noted that the state, which is considered an enemy by at least two neighboring countries, and the head of one neighbor never hide it, peace is needed.

"Let the soldiers were safely and quietly returned to their families. For us it is important to ensure the security, and in this sense, peace is very important. On the other hand the country is expected presidential elections. I expect that they will be in a competition of ideas, as in all normal, and the developed European democracies ", Sharmazanov said.
