There were 7,677 crimes in Yerevan in 2012

Yesterday RA Police held a meeting with the Chief of Armenian Police, Lieutenant-General Vladimir Gasparyan, who appreciated the activities of the metropolitan police in the past year and presented the main directions of the program in 2013.

In 2012 there were 7677 crimes in Yerevan which is less in 697 cases or 8.3% in the previous year, according to the press service of the Police. "The number of violent crimes has decreased by 950 cases, the most serious -to 305, and offenses under the criminal investigation - in the case of 921, or 15.3%.

However, the number of crimes against the individual has increased by 29.6% or 452 cases.

In 2012 19 murders were committed in Yerevan, identified 179 criminal groups, which included 492 people who had committed 541 crimes.
