Granatkin Memorial: Pitmen return with bronze

The Ukraine U-18 national team played their last game in the Valentin Granatkin Memorial. Our side took on their peers from Finland in the game for third place.

The game proved to be an even match. Decisive goals were scored by Ukrainians in the final minutes of the game. Artem Radchenko put Oleksandr Petrakov’s team in front with an accurate shot, and with a few minutes from the final whistle Roman Yaremchuk made the game safe.

Three Shakhtar’s players took part in Ukraine’s win. All of them were named in the starting line-up. Taras Kacharba played the full 90 minutes, Vyacheslav Tankovskyi was replaced on 70 minutes and Arthur Miranyan was subbed in the 83rd.

Thus, the Ukraine national team finished third in the international tournament, beating Lithuania, Azerbaijan and Finland.
