HC Donbass won the IIHF Continental Cup. Super final of this prestigious tournament, the only European club competition held under the auspices of the International Ice Hockey Federation, was held from 11 to 13 January in Donetsk. In the final match our players confidently beat last year's winners of the trophy – French club Rouen Dragons – by a score of 7:1.

Donbass is the first Ukrainian club to have won the European hockey trophy.

FC Shakhtar congratulates its fellow townsmen and friends on a high sporting achievement. The victory in the Continental Cup is a deserved award for the coaching staff, players, fans of Donbass. Boris Kolesnikov, the club’s president, deserves individual word of respect. It took him only a few years to guide the team to the top of European club hockey.

We are confident that this is only the beginning of Donbass’ glorious path in the international arena. Friends, we are proud of you and cheer for you!
