Shirak Torosyan: "Vahagn Chakhalyan will be released under amnesty"

"The rumors, that the Armenian activist, political prisoner Vahagn Chakhalyan should have been released, is a result of misunderstanding." 

Тhe president of Javakhk union, Armenian MP Shirak Torosyan told аbout this in an interview with Lurer.com.

"Georgia's new Government decided to release Chakhalyan under amnesty principle, not as a political prisoner".

He also mentioned that Chakhalyan was included in the list of the prisoners, but then his name was removed. 

Note that Vahangn Chakhalyan in April 7 2009 was sentenced to 10 years in jail. 

Chakhalyan was convicted of organizing mass events, violating public order, hooliganism, the purchase and storage of arms and ammunition.

Chakhalyan's father and younger brother were sentenced to fines,too.
