"168 Hours": Will Levon Zurabyan become Ter-Petrosyan's successor?
Armenian Press
According to the newspaper "168 Hours", after the announcement of the first president of Armenia, the leader of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) Levon Ter-Petrosyan's non-participation in the presidential elections in Armenia, true arguments to his decision were presented to a narrow circle of his associates.
Ter-Petrosyan said he was not going to leave the policy as in 1998 (that is, to be in isolation for a long time), but would not be actively involved in the political process.
At the same time, Levon Ter-Petrosyan said that in the near future would tell his associates the name of his successor, which, in all probability, would be officially announced after the presidential elections.
According to sources of the newspaper, the ANC elite realized that it was about Levon Zurabyan. In his turn, Levon Zurabyan become much more passive in public activities. He doesnot give interviews, comments, in order to present a more substantial figure as Levon Ter-Petrosyan's successor.
