Today marks the International Beatles Day.
Established by UNESCO in 2001, the day commemorates the opening of the Cavern club in Liverpool, where the legendary quartet debuted in 1957.
In 2004 the Rolling Stone magazine unveiled the best 500 songs of all time, where 23 songs were those by The Beatles.
The quartet stopped being a band in 1970, its four members focused on their solo projects.
John Lennon was killed in 1980 in New York. George Harrison died of cancer in 2001.
Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are still active as performers.
