Schools will have 5 times faster Internet

Today the Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan visited "Ucom" company to discuss the internet service provided to schools with capacity issues.

Ucom is planning to enhance the internet speed in the secondary schools of Yerevan.

Ucom, which is the biggest internet supplier of the Yerevan schools, has for now equipped 1,422 secondary schools with computers and connection devices, and built local area networks.

It is now planning to increase the Internet speed in the schools of capital city to 20Mbt/sec.

The Minister said that in 2012 additional 450 schools were provided with Internet. As of January 2013, almost all of the schools are equipped with Internet access, there are only a few village schools, the geographic location prevents them accessing Internet.
