Iranian president speaks of western sanctions’ harm

President of Iran Mahmud Ahmadinejad for the first time confessed about the harm the US and EU’s sanctions against Iran caused, Russian Lenta reports.
Speaking at the parliament on the eve, the Iranian president stated that Iran must overcome the dependence from oil revenues to reduce the efficiency of western sanctions.
Ahmadinejad said the restrictions of the leaders of western powers have slowed down the economic development tempo of the country, violated the country’s foreign trade. As an alternative to the oil, he offered to view mining and wood material as source for income.
The Iranian president stressed that the enemies are using the weak sides of Iranian economy to exert pressure on the country’s authorities.
