Sony Xperia Z tablet details unveiled

Sony is rumoured to be releasing a next-generation Android slate dubbed the Xperia Tablet Z.

Specs for the device have appeared on the Xperia_info Twitter page, suggesting it will feature a 1080p screen and 2GB of RAM.

The 10.1-inch tablet will also sport a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, 32GB of on-board storage, a 6000mAh battery and a rear-facing 8.1-megapixel camera.

Sony previously unveiled the Xperia Z smartphone, a high-end Android device built on water- and dust-proof technology. Its tablet namesake is also said to be water- and dust-proof.

The electronics giant previously re-released the Xperia Tablet S, following in the footsteps of its Xperia S smartphone.
