World marks International Hug Day
Other
On January 21st 1986 National Hugging Day was founded in the U.S.A. It has spread all over the world and is called by many names - Hug Day, World Hug Day, Send a Hug Day, International Hug Day, and even Hug a Bear Day!
The purpose for the holiday is to help everyone show more emotion in public.[1] There is only one way you are supposed to celebrate the holiday, offer a hug to anyone and everyone you want. While National Hug Day and the Free Hugs Campaign share many similarities, there is not actual association between the two. Whether you hug a family member or a stranger, the mental and physical health benefits are the same.
Psychologists say people hurrying to hug others seek for the feeling of security, comfort and love.
The beauty of a hug is it explains you care for them and you love to be with them. A hug is like a genuine outburst of emotion. This is much bigger than a shake hand.
This global 'virtual' Hug for Peace celebrating World Hug Day is your opportunity to show the world that 'peace begins with me'. We want to reach millions of people in the simplest heartfelt way that is possible, a hug!
