Shakhtar in UAE: final phase

In the morning of 21 January, right after breakfast, Shakhtar headed for a theory session. It lasted about an hour, involving an analysis of games and a talk about the strategic and tactical aspects of the preparation.

Then, after being requested by Matchworld Cup organizers, the Pitmen gathered near the entrance of the Emirates Palace hotel for photographing. Curiously, the team drove up to the place of the photo shoot as a caravan consisting of eight golf carts. And then the unique pictures were made near the Champion Matchworld Sup 2013 banner.

According the schedule, essentially the last full training session in the UAE followed. Before its start, there was a pleasant moment – the team warmly congratulated Henrikh Mkhitaryan on his birthday. In the afternoon, the players will have free time. The boys can relax and, if there is a desire, to visit the city.

Tomorrow, on 22 January, Shakhtar will begin the day with a breakfast before moving to Dubai. Shakhtar will be based in the hotel next to the stadium, which will host a friendly match with Zenit St. Petersburg. 

A separate training session is planned for the players who won’t take part in the match with Zenit. Immediately after the game, Shakhtar will go to the airport. Around 18:30 - 19:00 the team will head to Donetsk.
