Cristiano's golden month

Cristiano Ronaldo has started 2013 on scintillating form. The Portuguese goalscorer, who started the year with the disappointment of another second place in the Ballon d'Or, has responded by hitting the back of the net. So far he has scored seven goals in just three games: two against Real Sociedad, three against Celta and another brace at the Mestalla.

The first leg of the Copa del Rey tie against Valencia was the only game in which the Real Madrid frontman failed to score. He also missed out on the game against Osasuna through suspension, which is the only game Real has not won since the New Year began.

The Madrid striker will have at least two more chances to add to his account during January: Wednesday's second leg cup game against Valencia and Sunday's league match against Getafe (12:00 pm). He may even have another shot if Real come through victorious at the Mestalla, with the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals due to be played on 30th January.

Cristiano has scored 30 goals in as many games this season. Portugal's biggest star has maintained his miraculous goal per game average.
