Serhiy Popov: "A drop of poison sounds somewhat harsh."
Sport
Summing up the football season is a delicate matter. It is when you do not want any praises, nor do you want any specific analysis. For Shakhtar U-21 team the past year was ambiguous both in terms of the results and of the game. So we tried to look for the happy medium together with the head coach of our reserve team Serhiy Popov.
- Do you have any most memorable matches? Both in the positive and negative sense.
- I cannot really call any match our best. Each meeting had its favourite episodes and game segments. Sometimes, before matches, we practise some principles of the game, for example, the attacking moves. Then we watch what it results in. Footballers act consciously, demonstrating on the field what they prepared in training.
This is delightful. Not to say that in one game we did it all, completely failing another one. You must perfectly know that football does not exist without setbacks...
- In your opinion, one drop of poison infects the whole tun of wine?
- Maybe, a drop of poison sounds somewhat harsh. We had matches without gross errors, after that we praised the lads for the quality of the game and the results obtained. In general, all matched well. But, you know, there is no football without flaws.
