Pop star Tarkan faces rehab

An Istanbul prosecutor pursued Turkish pop star Tarkan for alleged drug use in his deliberation released today.

The famous pop star, whose full name is Tarkan Tevetoğlu, was charged with drug use in 2010.

Kaya sought rehabilitation and release under the condition of probationary measures for Tevetoğlu.

The 40-year-old pop star was one of 17 defendants in the case.

The prosecutor sought sentences spanning seven and a half years to 22 and a half years for five defendants charged with selling and possession of drugs.
