Barcelona does not intend to put Víctor Valdés up for sale in the summer. The club has decided to allow the goalkeeper – whose contract expires in 2014 - to make up his own mind, meaning that Valdés must be the one to propose an offer to Barça.

When this happens, the shot-stopper’s proposal must appeal to the Catalan club. For now, what Barça President Sandro Rosell does not want so early in the league is to create any unnecessary pressure among the club’s directors to find a way out for the goalkeeper.

The Camp Nou side wants Valdés to see out his contract. However, the fans’ reaction over the coming games could also play a part in the outcome.
