Armenian FM Nalbandyan received CIS election observation mission

On January 25 RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan received members of the CIS observation mission that will monitor the presidential elections on February 18. The delegation was led by CIS Deputy Executive Secretary Vladimir Garkun.

Greeting the guests, the Minister Nalbandyan underscored the activities of the CIS observation mission and extended his thanks to the latter for closely following the electoral processes in Armenia.

Garkun gave a high assessment to the conditions that are created in Armenia for conducting election observation missions, and announced that around 170 CIS observers will monitor the elections. That group will be led by CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev.

The interlocutors also reflected on the agenda of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council session, which will be convened on April 4.
