Xavi to stay until 2016

The 33-year old 'Azulgrana' midfielder, Xavi Hernandez, has extended his commitment to the Barcelona club until June 2016, while his buy-out clause of €80 million remains in place.
Xavi, who has spent the whole of his footballing career at Barcelona, has signed what is sure to be his last contract. The player signed the agreement at the club's offices in the company of the President, Sandro Rosell, Vice-president, Josep Maria Bartomeu and Director of Football Andoni Zubizarreta.
"It's a special day, knowing I have more years at 'Can Barça', which is where I want to be. My first choice has always been to stay here. The club has made it happen and I appreciate it. I will try to keep performing as I have over recent years", said the midfielder in comments released by the Catalan club.
Xavi, who will be 36 when his contract ends, has played 659 games wearing the 'Azulgrana' shirt and is the player with most games to his name in the club's history.
