SCR CEO reviewed the results of the company in January

On February 8 the CEO of CJSC "SCR" Victor Rebets summed up the work of the Company in January 2013 at a call conference. As Victor Rebets mentioned despite the fact that January was a month of a number of holidays that was not a reason to relax. On the contrary it demands that we concentrated on work, made additional requirements for traffic safety and satisfied transportation needs, - said the head of the company.
According to the data introduced by the CEO the load on SCR network in January 2013 was 2% above the planned target and 10.6% higher than in January 2012. In general the volume of cargo in January 2013 was made due the planned level.
Among the achievements of the company Victor Rebets named the significant increase in passenger traffic: in January 2013 passenger traffic exceeded last year's figure by 80%. At the same time passenger traffic on international routes was higher than in January 2012 by 30% and in local traffic it doubled.
I hope that the efforts of the Directorate of passenger traffic will create all the conditions for maintaining the current indexes and keeping the passengers who once used our services. A number of new services that we will offer passengers this year will contribute to this, - said the head of the company.
Rehabilitation of SCR railway stations and new transport hubs will attract new passengers to the railway as well.
Victor Rebets drew attention to the fact that a number of activity indexes such as the reduction of demurrage, the average daily mileage and performance of the locomotive, the reduction of working park recorded positive trends. However, as emphasized by SCR CEO work on growth of freight, reducing the cost of electricity and fuel should be improved.
Regarding the issue of wage Victor Rebets reported that the average monthly wage in SCR was larger than the average salary in the country by almost 30%. At the end of 2012 the average monthly wage in the railway reached 157.7 thousand AMD though the average figure for the country was 121.3 thousand AMD.
As stressed by the head of SCR January was quite eventful for the company. Among them Victor Rebets, noted the signing of a tripartite Memorandum of Mutual Understanding on regional cooperation aimed at the development of the Southern Railway of Armenia, the meeting with the Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the retirement of a large group of SCR employees.
